The many benefits of twisting postures (asanas) in the practice of yoga include restoring range of motion of the spine; stimulating digestion; increasing circulation; relieving stiffness of the hips, shoulders and neck; and creating an overall refreshing feeling of greater space and freedom.
This practice will open with a brief discussion of the anatomy of the spine and how we approach twists whether seated, standing, balancing or supine. This will be primarily experiential rather than discussion- based, but questions are welcomed throughout as we enjoy a full range of twisting asanas during this practice.
This practice is not suitable for pregnant women or those with acute injuries of the spine. Please email me if you have questions on whether or not this workshop is for you.
Pre-registration is required for this practice.
