This vigorous, yet accessible, Vinyasa flow class will explore creative, fluid movement combined with purposeful holds in a variety of asanas (postures), with a deep respect for detailed alignment and breath work (pranayama). This practice deepens both strength and flexibility in the body and cultivates a greater awareness of the movements of the breath and the mind.
Satya Vinyasa challenges the practitioner to explore beyond the physical body and tap into the spirit of our life force, Prana, in order to unearth our true potential on and off the mat. If you are game for a sweaty, educational, yet lighthearted take on the practice, this class is for you.
I take inspiration from my own practice and training to grow along with my students. You can expect strong flow, but you may also encounter a stray Yin or restorative posture or myofascial release on tennis balls to round out the experience. Be ready for an adventure on the mat!
Please note that this class is open to mixed levels, however, this is a moderately-vigorous practice. Prior yoga experience is recommended.
This is not “hot yoga,” but the room is heated and you can expect to sweat.
Ages 15 and up for all classes, please.
