Lightness of Being: Applying Ayurveda to Asana, Pranayama & Meditation for Springtime Transition

Lightness of Being: Applying Ayurveda to Asana, Pranayama & Meditation for Springtime Transition

Wednesday, April 16th 5:30-7:30PM

Eden Yoga Shala  In-person only (no zoom option)

Heavy, dense, dull, cold, and slow. Does this describe even a little bit of how you feel – physically, mentally, emotionally – at the end of a long winter and as you move into the season of early springtime?

We are waking up like bears from our slumber. The natural world is unthawing, but we may need a little support and a nudge to come on board for this process of reemergence.

Ayurveda – a complimentary practice to yoga – utilizes the perspective of increasing opposites to bring about balance. In this practice, we will use the wisdom of Ayurveda to create a practice for the body, breath, and mind that will counter those excesses of the Kapha dosha – heavy, dense, dull, cold, slow.

This practice will create warmth and circulation (don’t worry – not hot yoga!), a bit of vigor, and a sense of brightness and lightness. There will also be plenty of time to relax and unwind to balance our efforts.

Asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breathing practices), deep rest, and meditation will all be geared toward releasing stagnation and revealing a clearer, energized, renewed you.

I will have just completed my 75 hour teacher training module with Kripalu on this very subject of combining yoga and ayurveda, so rest assured I will be bringing you some wonderful, fresh inspiration.

Please note: This practice is being held in-person only (no zoom option). Space is limited and you must pre-register to come (no drop-ins). You can use the different options below to secure your spot. This event has a 48 cancellation policy.
